The Pillars to hold Pabasa

The Pillars, the Filipino seniors association in Toronto, is holding the annual traditional Pabasa on Holy Thurday, March 24 and Good Friday, March 25 at the Lynch Hall, Our Lady of Lourdes Parish, at 41 Earl Street corner Sherbourne.

According to Francisco Maralag, The Pillars’ president, the twenty four hours singing of the passion of Christ will start at 10:30 A.M. with The Way of the Cross on Holy Thursday and end at the same time during Holy Friday.

Aside from Marallag, the other officers of The Pillars are Tim Barrientos, vice president; Rheza Evangelista, secretary; Zeny Lopez, treasurer; Mila Lupangco, auditor; Fely Alfaro, Gerry Elises, and Leah Garcia.

Caring Bercasio and Mila Lupangco are the Pabasa coordinators withPurita barrientos, Bob Filart, and Rose Bustamante, advisers.

In the meantime, The officers and members of the board of directors and The Pillars’ members honored last Februrary 12, the birthday celebratns for the months of January, 2005 and February, 2005 which include Ben Ferrer, January 1; Elena Frias, January 9, Jimmy Lupangco, January 12; Benigno Alfaro, Sr., February 13; Purita Barrientos, February 20; Nene Penala, February 20; and Rheza Evangelista, February 28.
