Because of a growing clamor from worldwide members of the Upsilon Sigma Phi, the fraternity’s North American Board of Directors selected its Toronto based chapter to host the international reunion in August 2006.

The reunion will be jointly hosted by the fraternity’s sister sorority, the Sigma Delta Phi.

This annual and much awaited get together of Upsilonians around the world has been a fraternity tradition over the last 15 years, with past reunions alternating annually between the Upsilon Congress in the Philippines and major US cities.

The 2006 Toronto event will be the first time that the fraternity’s reunion will be held in Canada. Having attended many of the well-attended reunions, the Toronto chapter decided it was time to bring the event to Canada and submitted its bid to host the 2006 reunion.

Officially called Otso Otso sa Toronto, the 2006 reunion celebrates the fraternity’s 88th anniversary since it’s founding in 1918.

Chaired by Noel Cruz, the Toronto chapter is preparing a full schedule of activities and entertainment that promises to make OtsoOtso sa Toronto an event that will be remembered by Upsilonians and Sigma Deltans for a long time.

Ruben and Tess Cusipag who were present in almost all the past fraternity reunions, just arrived from Honolulu for the fraternity’s batch 57 Salo Salo.

Tess speaking on behalf of the Toronto chapter, invited all the brods and their wives present at the Salo Salo event to come to Toronto in 2006.

Attendees of the Salo Salo enthusiastically received the news of Toronto as the venue of the next get together.

The Toronto chapter is inviting all members of the Upsilon Sigma Phi and Sigma Delta Phi in Ontario to contact Noel Cruz at 905-927-00973 or email: or Rogue Concepcion at for more details.
