The country’s triumphant performance at the 23rd Southeast Asian Games served as a timely reminder to Filipinos that nothing is impossible with hard work and dedication. A message of hope and encouragement spread like wildfire across a cheering nation: “Taglay mo ang dugong bayani. Sulong, laban, ‘wag uurong. Pakinggan sa ‘yong puso ang sigaw na ating bulong. Posible.”

A rock anthem with uplifting lyrics and a remarkably memorable tune, “Posible” made its debut at the SEA Games opening ceremonies, where an international audience of over 3000 athletes and dignitaries personally witnessed the creativity and talent of Filipino artists. To bring this inspirational song to life, Globe Handyphone brought together the powerhouse team of lyricist Russell Molina and GenTxt icons Rivermaya.

Having previously headlined Globe’s OFW and youth campaigns with their signature songs “Makaaasa Ka” and “Awit ng Kabataan,” Rivermaya readily stepped up to the challenge. Says front man Rico Blanco, “‘Posible’ is the battlecry of every Filipino who dares to dream, despite the odds.” Guitarist Mike Elgar adds, “It was an honor and a privilege for us to perform a song that has the power to inspire an entire nation.”

The song challenges Filipinos to harness their inner potential in their quest for success, in whatever field. “In this time of great uncertainty, we, as a people, can once again unite and do even greater things for the country. It is the winning spirit in all of us that would push us even further,” states Molina.

The song’s chart-topping success long after the SEA Games has made it one of Rivermaya’s latest hits, prompting the band to release “Posible” as part of its “Great Hits 2006: the Ultimate Collection” album.
“It is our hope that the positive message of “Posible” will continue to motivate people to reach for their goals,” says drummer Marc Escueta. Bassist Japs Sergio agrees saying, “Great things are indeed possible if we set our hearts and minds on achieving our dream.”
