The newly elected officers of The Pillars Cultural Association for 2009-2010.

Last Saturday, Nov. 29, it was great to see many members of The Pillars Cultural Association at the election of officers for 2009-2010 despite freezing and windy weather.

The elected officers will serve a two year term. All newly elected officers will take office effective January 1, 2009 and end on December 31, 2010. All members in attendance voted by secret ballot.
Under the election procedure code, attendance in person is mandatory for all nominees in order to accept the nomination for an elected position and no proxy voting is allowed.

The president of The Pillars Cultural Association, Gerry Elises, appointed and established the formation of a Commission on Election (COMELEC) that will govern and administer the association’s election procedure, vote counting and proclamation of elected officers.

We want to thank the members of the Commission on Election (COMELEC) Ms. Nora Taculad (president of United Filipinos Association of St. Jamestown) for being the Chair, Remy Raqueno, the Secretary and Lito Abesamis, the Tally Clerk.
