Nebres reelected President of Bicol Canada

TORONTO–Rafael Nebres was reelected president of the Bicol Canada Community Association, Inc. A native of Camalig, Albay, he will be serving until 2015.

The BCCA is composed of Bicolanos and Bicolanas who came from the provinces of Albay,  Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, Catanduanes, Masbate, and Sorsogon who opted to settle down in the different Canadianprovinces, cities, and towns.

He appealed to all Bicolanos and bicolanas in Canada to get in touch with him so as to be included in the forthcoming directory.

Other BCCA officers elected are: Jojo Taduran, vice president for membership and government relations. He is a veteran Filipino print and broacast journalist. He is an active regular member of the Knights of Columbus, the Order of the Knights of Rizal an a lifetime member of the National Press Club of the Philippines.

Two civic leaders in the Filipino community in Ontario were elected vice president for public relations Ms. Estrella Dilla Carpenter and vice president for sports and youth development Noli Aquino.

Immigration consultant Arlene Martirez is still the secretary and Monsie Royong, assistant secretary.
Ching Ragos, the die-hard Bicolana is the new treasurer while Aida Dolores Lagarde is the assistant treasurer. The new auditor is Bobby Achacon who served the association as president and treasurer.
Ronnie de la Gana of Del Gallego, Camarines Sur and veteran radio broadcaster Nestor Canton, directors for special projects.

The other members of the BCCA board of directors are: Jess Cabrias, executive producer of Talakayan radio program; MegaWorld Country Manager Larry Bercasio; Fely Ortega; Naty Gutierrez; Benhur Ll. Salcedo, Jr. Retired Police Officer Ely Olayon; Naty Gutierrez, Virgie Manaog, and businesswoman Helen Lopez.

In the meantime, President Nebres said that there will be a massive membership campaign for the Bicol Canada Community Association this year.
