Living Arts Centre to show legend ‘Malakas at Maganda’
Culture Philippines of Ontario (CPO) together with Dr. Victoria Santiago & Associates are presenting Malakas at Maganda (The Philippine Legend) at Living Arts Centre in Mississauga on Saturday of February 6, 2010 at 7:00pm. The show is a CPO’s community offering to celebrate its 25th year anniversary.
Classy Show At Affordable Price – In living up to the non-profit nature of Culture Philippines of Ontario, The pricing is set at a very affordable price of only $15 for orchestra and $10 for balcony. It will be held at the prestigious and award winning Hammerson Hall of the Living Arts Centre in Mississauga.
The legend tells of how the thousand islands in the Philippine archipelago were formed out from the battle between the god of the sky and the goddess of the seas. The Northeast Wind “Amihan” interfered to stop the fierce battle by taking the form of a bird.
Malakas and Maganda is conceptualized by CPO’s director and choreographer, Ms. Eno Mescallado – Kalash. Eno has brought CPO to participate in international dance festivals such as, Mondial des Culture Festival in Drummondville, Quebec and International Moerberke Festival in Belgium. CPO is asking the community to watch Malakas at Maganda on Saturday of February 6th, 2010 and join them in their celebration of their 25th anniversary.
