Max Surban, the king of harana and novelty songs in Visayas and Mindanao will take the center stage on April 10, 400 P.M. at the Ryerson University Theatre located at 23 Gerrard St., East.
He will be joined by Linda Magno, the queen of Ilocano songs and a very versatile singer who can switch from standard to modern songs.
Surban who has been dubbed king baleleng was born in Cebu City He has travelled not only in the whole country but other parts of the world entertaining the Filipino Overseas Workers. He has recorded several songs in the Vicor Music Corporation and one of them was “Ang Manok ni San Pedro.”
On the other hand, Ms. Magno has been a very popular singer in the Philippines before going to the United Sates. She was one of the members of the Hi-Pertensions and whose two other members were Carina Afable and Norma Ledesma.
She was featured several times at the Caesar’s Palace’s Main Show Room in Atlantic City.
Producing the Max Surban – Linda Magno show is the Olaer Entetainment and Promotions headed by the father and daughter team of Camilo and Jo Olaer.
According to Camilo Olaer, Mr. Surban and Ms. Magno will be donating to projects being undertaken by by Filipino organizations from Visayas and Mindanao.
