The St. Jamestown Festival is calling interested and creative individuals to participate in the contest to design the festival’s 2006 logo.
The festival which was formed recently was attended by community leaders in the St. Jamestown area. Gene Lara was elected chairman and Willie Nabus, treasurer.
The prize for the winner will be announced later.
The 2005 St. Jamestown Festival is slated on June 11, a day before the celebration of the 107th year celebration of the Independence Day.

United Filipinos affair
The United Filipinos Association of St. Jamestown will be holding the 107th year celebration of the Philippine Independence Day on June 11, 6:00, at the sub-basement-gymn at 240 Wellesley Street East in Toronto.
According to Nora Taculad, the association president, the affair is dubbed as “Sosyalan sa Araw ng Kalayaan 2005″ with dancing and singing of Filipino dances and songs including parlour games.
Taculad is inviting all Filipinos in Toronto and other cities and towns in the province of Ontario to meet other fellow Filipinos and to have a respite from their daily heavy work schedules.
