Ambassador Gatan inducted Knight of Rizal

Knights of Rizal Canada’s Sir Lapulapu Cana, KGCR and Canada Region Commander Sir George R. Poblete, KGOR, conferred H.E. Sir Amb. Leslie B. Gatan, the Philippine Ambassador to Canada, to the rank of Knight Commander of Rizal (KCR) in a ceremony held in Scarborough on Dec. 2, 2011.
Ambassador Leslie B. Gatan has been in the public service for 28 years. A native of Tuguegarao, Cagayan, he earned his Master’s Degree in Urban Planning in the University of the Philippines. He was Ambassador and Deputy Permanent Representative of the Philippine Permanent Mission to the United Nations in New York. Ambassador Gatan came to Canada in September 2011 and resides in Ottawa.
Sir Leslie Gatan was initiated to the Knights of Rizal in Brussels, Belgium by Sir Lino Paras, KGOR. He plans to re-activate the Rizal Ottawa Chapter and promises to help the Order of the Knights of Rizal in their civic and community projects. Right now, he has lined up a number of candidates for initiation to the Knights of Rizal in Ottawa and Montreal.
