Teachers’ group bares activities for 2012
The Philippine Teachers Association of Canada (PTAC), a socio-professional organization of Filipino Canadian certified teachers in Ontario and former educators in the Philippines, has recently approved meaningful community-wide and volunteer-based projects and activities for 2012. PTAC president Tony A. San Juan announced the decision of the Executive Board during its general meeting on February 26th, 2012 at the Aristokrat BBQ Restaurant.
Among PTAC’s desirable upcoming and on-going initiatives and activities are :
1) Professional Development Seminar on Ontario Teaching Practices( March 10, 2012)
2) Career Building and Reconnection Networking Workshop (May 8, 2012)
3) 6th Annual Teacher Certification and Upgrading Conference (June 2, 2012)
4) 7th Annual Family Picnic and Get-together (June 16,2012)
5) Learning Resources and Book Donation to Philippine Schools Project (Jul.-Aug., 2012)
6) 3rd Education Career Consultation Forum (October 20,2012)
7) 7th Annual Christmas Party and Recognition Night (November 26,2012)
Organized in May, 2006, the 105-member samahan ng mga guro is purposefully engaged in promoting the status, licensing and professional development of its member-teachers in Ontario. PTAC is likewise actively participating with various organizations in the FilCan community, either as a proponent,partner or sponsor of initiatives relating especially to matters on education,teaching and learning within the Canadian milieu.
