HISTORICAL LANDMARK housing “Magellan’s Cross” is right outside the The Minor Basilica of the Santo Niño or Basilica Minore del Santo Niño, a 16th century church in Cebu City in the Philippines and reputedly the oldest Catholic church in the country. The stone carving says “Magellan’s Cross / This Cross of Tindalo Wood Encases the Original Cross Planted by Ferdinand Magellan On This Very Site April 21, 1521” PHOTO: HG
