Renal nurses group helps Pinoys in Ontario, PH
Aurora Ticzon Elefano, president of the Filipino Renal Association in Ontario (FRNAO), said that the FRNAO is continuously strengthening its efforts in order to help Filipinos in Ontario province who have Kidney trouble.
The FRNAO is a non-profit organization that has an extensive membership from all over the Greater Toronto Area focusing on the Nephrology (Kidney Dialysis) programs programs in GTA.
The main purpose of the organization is to give back to the community more so to the people who are confined to the different hospitals not only in Toronto but also other parts of Canada and the Philippines.
FRNAO is also emphasizing its’ services to the less fortunate the homeless Kababayan and victims of calamities in the Philippines.
As of now, it hss donated 13 houses to Gawad Kalinga, two in Bicol Region and 10 in FRNAO Village in Batasan, Quezon City Philippines and has egularly responded to the urgent task of helping the victims of calamities in the Philippines.
It provides community services in community events by providing first aid, free blood pressure readings and health teachings, according to Ms. Elefano.
This year 6th Dinner-Dance was chaired by Rosemary Paz and hosted by the Hemodialysis and Nephrology Program of St. Joseph’s Health Centre, Toronto. FRNAO gave $3,000.00 to Pidoy Pacis President Gawad Kalinga of Toronto towards one house in FRNAO Village GK in Batasan , Quezon City and gave another $2,000.00 to Rosary Escano Executive Officer of ABS- CBN towards Sagip Kapamilya International Foundations relief funds for the victims of Metro Manila Calamities.
