PIDC announces its 2013 events
Members of the Philippine Independence Day Council (PIDC) have already started preparations for a number of community functions planned for 2013. PIDC, a volunteer-based non-profit organization has been successfully organizing annual events for more than 20 years and continues its efforts to foster unity within the Filipino-Canadian community.
Expect more of what PIDC is known for such as the Miss Philippines and Little Miss Philippines Pageant scheduled on June 8, 2013. The annual Salu-Salo sa Earl Bales community pot-luck picnic is scheduled on June 15, 2013; this event includes the Mabuhay Cup Volleyball Tournament.
Glamour-filled events like Dancing to be a Star and the Independence Day Gala will also return; dates and venues are to be confirmed.
PIDC is the proud host of the popular Mabuhay Cup Invitational Basketball Tournament that invites more the 60 teams to compete every year at the state-of-the-art Hoop Dome located at Downsview Park. This event is scheduled on July 12, 13 and 14, 2013. A new addition to the PIDC line-up of events is the Mabuhay Cup Golf Tournament which is scheduled on July 7, 2013.
The popular Mabuhay Philippines Festival will be back and better than ever expanding its programming to THREE DAYS at the newly renovated Harbourfront Centre! Mark your calendars and set aside August 16, 17 and 18, 2013 as the weekend to experience the best of Philippine heritage and culture.
