Toronto Block Rosary on Pilgrimage
The Block Rosary Crusaders of Toronto had a Pilgrimage to Carey, Ohio on July 8-10, 2005, to celebrate the 130th year of Consolation Basilica in Carey, Ohio. The Block Rosary Crusaders of Toronto was requested by Bro. Jeffrey of Consolation Basilica to sponsor this year’s celebration. Over 150 pilgrims from Toronto came over in a bus and dozens of cars.
This celebration was led by BR Chairperson Lita Leano, whose committee (in their Filipina dresses and barong Tagalog) managed the Mass in the Basilica and the procession outside the Church. The 32 person choir of the Philippine Choral Society of Mississauga renderd the liturgical and Filipino songs before and during the Saturday Mass in the Basilica. Fr. Vic Valles of Cobourg celebrated the Mass in the Basilica. He was assisted by Filipino priests from Ohio and Chicago.
The Block Rosary Crusaders of Toronto is a group of over 500 mainly Filipino families who pray the Rosary with their families everyday and everyweek to show their adoration to the Infant Jesus and devotion to Our Mother, Blessed Virgin Mary. The BR group started in Scarborough and is now going to celebrate their 23rd year this October, 2005.
