Niagara dance supports CIBC cancer run
Filipino entrepreneurs in Niagara will be helping raise cancer awareness through a fund raising drive starting from their participation in the recent trade show at Metro Convention Centre. “Make-up for a cause” and “Dance for a cause” are two separate events in the pipeline to support the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation CIBC Run for the Cure.
At the show, Girlie Vergara of Senegence Cosmetics donated part of the proceeds to the CIBC Run. Ping de la Cruz, a cancer survivor was one of the lucky customers who bought a make-up and shared the worthy cause.
Filipino distributors of Senegence and Immunotec distributors of Niagara will also be hosting another fund-raising event for the Run under the theme “Dance for a Cause” to be held on September 24th, Saturday at the Our Lady of Peace Hall, Niagara Falls. This will be a fun-filled community gathering that will bring together all the dance enthusiasts. Adding spice to the occasion will be dance performers of Hawaiian and belly dancing. Guests will have the chance to participate through an interactive dance lessons. There will also be dance instructors on Latin dancing, salsa or line dancing. Part of the proceeds will be donated to the Run. Ticket prices are $10.00 (for early birds), $ 15.00 at the gate. Food and drinks will be available.
The 14th annual “Fall Classic” 5 km / 1 km Run or Walk takes place in Niagara at the Grantham Lions Club, St. Catharines, Sunday, October 2nd, 2005. The Run, Canada’s largest, single-day, volunteer-led, fundraising event is dedicated to the fight against breast cancer.
