SIKLAB-Ontario lines up February events
SIKLAB-Ontario recently led Filipino migrant workers’ rights activists and sympathizers in a protest action in front of Immigration Minister Joe Volpe’s campaign headquarters Friday January 13. The action was part of the National Day of Protest against the continuing unjust deportation of Filipino live-in caregivers. Similar actions were done in Montreal and Vancouver.
SIKLAB-Ontario is an organization of Filipino migrant workers in the Greater Toronto area. SIKLAB (which stand for flameburst) is the acronym for Sulong, Itaguyod ang Karapatan ng Manggagawang Pilipino sa Labas ng Bansa (Forward, Uphold the Rights of Overseas Filipino Workers!) We are a chapter of SIKLAB-Canada a national alliance of Filipino migrant workers.
