Lani and SOS show ‘the best in Las Vegas’
Every performance of Lani Misalucha is truly spellbinding, reason enough to see and hear her live crooning songs of various genres and styles, in a concert at the Hummingbird Centre for the Performing Arts, One Front St. East on June 17, 2006 at 8 pm. This is a production of DEE Entertainment Group in association with Rosy Cheeks Entertainment Group.
She topbills with the Hawaii’s premiere showband Society of Seven, known for the group’s top-notch music and hilarious dose of comedy.
Expect Lani, dubbed as “Asia’s Nightingale”, deliver stunning melodic renditions using the force and dynamic versatility of a six-octave angelic vocal range that can cascade up and down the scales like a roller coaster.
Merged with her radiant, sultry looks and captivating showmanship, she is a vocalist-performer beyond par.
Lani has been in the music scene since the late ‘80’s, a vocalist with various bands, a soloist in lounge and hotel circuits, a signer for commercial jingles and multiplex tapes.
In 1996, she recorded an album with the carrier single, “Somebody Warm Like Me”, an instant hit. From then on, composers sought her and she sang originals in the 1996 Metropop Songwriting Composition and the Third Musika Manila Song Writing Composition in 1997.
In 1998, she copped the Best Singer Award in the Asia Song Festival. Moving to Viva Records in 1999, she did the album “Tunay Na Mahal” with the hit song “You Don’t Have To Say You Love Me”. The album turned gold and copped top awards for Lani in Katha as Best Female Pop Performer and in Awit Awards as Best Female Recording Performer, lifting her to diva status.
Lani also played the lead role in S. K. Productions megamusical play “Rama at Sita,” which she received raves for her singing and acting prowess. She was nominated Best Concert Performer and Best Stage Ac tress for the “Rama at Sita” role.
Lani again scored with her interpretation of Dodjie Simon’s composition “Can’t Stop Loving You” which won the prestigious Grand Prize at the 1999 Metropop Song Festival. She was also awarded the Best Performance by Female Recording Artists in the Await Awards, the second in a row, for the same song.
The incomparable Society of Seven consists of Tony Ruivivar, the creative leader of the group who plays the guitar and sings with Lani; Bert Sagum, the comedic leader; Gary Bautista, a vocal impresario who can perform anything from Broadway to Sinatra hits; Hoku Low, the crystal clear high falsetto voice , and a bass and horn player; Randy Abellar, an accomplished drummer and singer; Roy Guerzo, keyboardist; and Wayne Wakai, a singer whose vocals range from bass to high falsetto. From blues, ballads, comedy and impersonations, Hawaii’s own SOS’ performances are never short on laughs, laced with humorous asides, ad-libs and outrageously hilarious comedy routines.
Find out why Lany Misalucha and the Society of Seven have earned the B rating from Neon Magazine and why the show is considered one of the best in Las Vegas.
