Law in the community
Law in the community
The Canadian Multicultural Council of Asians in Ontario (“CMC”) with the support of the Philippine Independence Day Council (“PIDC”) invite the Filipino-Canadian community to participate in an informative event called “Law in the Community.”
If you have ever wondered how the Canadian judicial system works, this is the event for you. On Saturday, January 13, 2007, CMC will present a mock trial that will demonstrate how the court and justice system works in Ontario. A real judge, jury, prosecutors and accused will be in action to show what happens in a court of law. In addition, police recruitment and legal services booths will be on hand to showcase services available to the community. This event is FREE and participants are encouraged to ask questions about the proceedings.
“Law in the Community” is scheduled on Saturday, January 13, 2007 at the Chinese Cultural Centre of Greater Toronto, 5183 – 5193 Sheppard Avenue East, Scarborough. The job fair starts at 1:00 p.m. and the mock trial begins at 2:00 p.m.
