Miss Philippines Hamilton 2008 is a province-wide beauty pageant open to single, Filipino females between the ages of 16 and 25. Through this event, however, we seek to address more than just physical beauty. The pageant will serve as a platform for personal growth and improvement. Participants will have the opportunity to showcase not only their beauty but also their intellect, sophistication, and social competence. We believe that this will encourage young Filipinas to excel overall and to find an effective balance between the aesthetic and the personal areas of their lives.

In addition, we hope to solidify the Filipino identity and to uphold Filipino culture and tourism. We believe that our efforts will have far-reaching effects conducive to the tourism industries both in Canada and in the Philippines. To ensure this, the winner of The Miss Philippines Hamilton 2008 Pageant will serve as an ambassador of goodwill. She will promote Filipino culture and tourism and also serve as a role model for Filipino youth. It is our hope that these activities, along with her new-found status, will foster confidence and a willingness to give others what she has been given.

As both a token of gratitude and further motivation, we hope to award the winner of The Miss Philippines Hamilton 2008 Pageant with an educational scholarship. Our aim, ultimately, is to promote development in the Filipino community through education, empowerment, and equality for young women.
