Tiara Festival marks women power in Hamilton
HAMILTON–On Thursday May 8th, 2008, from 11 am to 8 pm at LIUNA Station, join Tiara Festival in receiving The High Commissioner of the Kingdom of Lesotho, Her Excellency Motseoa Senyane and her diplomatic staff from Ottawa as they show their support to all diverse women in our community. Join them at the CULTURAL PARADE at 11 am by wearing a tiara with your own ethnic, tribal or traditional wedding costume or bring and play your own musical instrument.
Tiara Festival is a family oriented whole day festival celebrating the power of women, using fashion and art to highlight their struggles and successes.
From 11:30 am to 4:30 pm, doors will be OPEN TO THE PUBLIC at the Continental Express Ballroom where women entrepreneurs and women supporters will present handmade clothing, accessories and ornaments created by tribal and ethnic women around the world at the INTERNATIONAL ARTS & CRAFTS SHOW.
From 5-8 pm at LIUNA Station’s Continental Express Ballroom, watch compelling stories of women around the world as women professionals and students present ethnic and tribal clothing interspersed with a video presentation in our MULTICULTURAL FASHION SHOW.
