Ateneans converging in Toronto for convention

TORONTO-The Ateneo Alumni Association Canada (AAAC) is hosting the 6th All-Ateneo Convention to be held at the Toronto Marriott Eaton Centre on July 8-11, 2004.

The All-Ateneo Convention is a gathering of Ateneans designed to renew old friendships, share learnings and experiences, and focus energies on assistance projects in the spirit of the Jesuit tradition. The earlier conventions were held in Las Vegas(1994), San Francisco(1996), Vancouver(1998), New Jersey(2000) and Seattle(2002). These conventions were attended by Ateneo alumni all over the world, with the special participation of the presidents of the various Ateneo universities in the Philippines.

With an anticipated attendance of 300 alumni and guests from all over North America and the Philippines, the convention program was designed to provide not only opportunities for camaraderie and friendship but also time to explore the sights and sounds of multicultural Toronto. It includes a golf day, city tour/harbour cruise, Niagara trip, Sunday picnic at the Centre Island, and even line dancing lessons. For more details, please visit the convention website at www.ateneo2004.com.
The social highlight of the convention is the Alumni Gala to be held on Saturday, July 10th at 6:30 p.m. at the Grand Ballroom of the Toronto Marriott Eaton Centre. The Gala ticket is $55 if paid by June 15th and $60 after June 15th. Tickets may be obtained from Bernie Sychangco, AAAC Chairman, (416) 638-8152 or (416) 857-7551.
