Business Survival Skills seminar, part 2
Business Survival Skills seminar, part 2
TORONTO–Following the successful launching of the Business Skills Enhancement Program on 02 April 2004, the Consulate General of the Philippines in Toronto, the Philippine Chamber of Commerce in Toronto and The Business Workshop, announced today that the second part of the series would be held at the public reception area of the Consulate on 09 July 2004.
“This second of the three-part series should be very interesting and relevant to our Filipino entrepreneurs in the Greater Toronto Area,” enthuses Consul General Alejandro B. Mosquera, “as participants will learn from the real life stories of businessmen, including their mistakes and how they turned their failures into successes.”
Entitled “Survival Skills for Starting and Growing a Company,” the second part of the series will be conducted by Ms. Grace Soyao, a Filipino Canadian management consultant, who believes that for Filipino entrepreneurs to grow in these highly-competitive times they should be armed with the appropriate management tools. She adds that after learning about the business implications of geopolitical, economic, technological and health trends in the first series, it is time to share with Filipino entrepreneurs some valuable insights on business management, such as planning, growth strategies and people management.
According to PCCT President Rafael Nebres, “survival skills are vital in the life of a starting entrepreneur, especially among Filipino entities, who find themselves in challenging situations in the middle of their business operations; some, sadly, closing shop after a few months. Thus, the seminar on survival skills will hopefully assist our Filipino businessmen not only survive the first trying months of their businesses but more importantly, have them grow strongly through the years.”
The Business Skills Enhancement Program, a joint program of the Consulate, PCCT and the Business Workshop, is offered for free to all Filipino-Canadian entrepreneurs. Interested parties may call up Vice Consul Indhira C. Bañares at 416 9227181 ext. 228 or Mr. Nebres of PCCT 416 6181362 for registration.
