Consulate team reaches out in Winnipeg, Manitoba
TORONTO–A 6-member Philippine Consular Team, headed by Vice Consul Indhira C. Bañares, will be proceeding to Winnipeg, Manitoba, this July to conduct its annual outreach program to the Filipinos in the area. Members of the team will include representatives from the Philippine Tourism Office and PAG-IBIG based in Toronto.
During this visit, Filipinos in Winnipeg can avail of consular services such as renewal and amendment of Philippine passports, legalization of documents for use in the Philippines, authentication of NBI applications, and issuance of Balikbayan visa stamps. The team will likewise accept entry visa applications to the Philippines. Filipinos can take this opportunity to consult with the consular team regarding the recently-passed Dual Citizenship Law.
Last June, a two-man consular team headed by Consul Julius D. Torres, was dispatched to Saskatoon and Regina, Saskatchewan, to render consular services to Filipinos in that province. The visit coincided with the Philippine Independence Day festivities held in Saskatoon organized by the Filipino-Canadian Association of Saskatoon (FILCAS).
Another consular team to be headed by Consul General Alejandro Mosquera is slated to visit London, Windsor and Thunder Bay in August to cater to the consular needs of Filipinos thereat.
The upcoming Consulate Team to Winnipeg will be extending consular services at the Office of the Philippine Honorary Consul General, Dr. Roland Guzman, at 84 Isabel Street, second floor, Winnipeg, Manitoba, starting Saturday, 23 July until Sunday, 24 July.
