Radyo Pinoy–radio that listens to listeners
TORONTO–Perusing through the local radio stations in Toronto has become mundane. Often, we hear the same old thing over and over again. Originality has disappeared and audiences are left settling for shows that only help get them through traffic problems in and around the city. Piercing through the rubbish we hear on the radio today is a station that elevates our minds and permeates our consciousness. CMR – CJSA Radyo Pinoy 101.3 FM, now operational with programming created to entertain, beguile and enlighten its audience.
Listen weekdays at 7:00 p.m. and weekends at 8:00 a.m. to innovative shows with a Filipino twist. On Mondays, tune in to “Husay” Tugtuging Sariling Atin, showcasing Original Pilipino Music from the 70’s, 80’s, 90’s and current hits from the Philippines. Hosted by Martin, Eric and Elleanor. Tuesday’s line up offers “Parang Kailan Lang,” featuring Filipino-Canadian success stories, hosted by Deo Moreno. Wednesdays, find out what’s new with “Ang Inyong Lingkod,” a public service show that features relevant issues that directly affect the Filipino community; hosted by George Fernandez and Evelyn Laraya. Thursdays, bridge the gap between young and old with Quiz, Leo and DJ Rice in “Rice Café;” a program geared toward the youth of our community that can easily be enjoyed by Filipinos of any age. Fridays, the tables are turned as Radyo Pinoy hears from their audience during “Dear Tita.” Letters received from listeners are read on the air by a different personality each week. You never know who is going to show up to offer people advice and counselling on a number of topics. Saturdays, tune in to “Palabok,” an entertaining radio magazine show with host ‘Kuya’ Roman. Sundays, start your day and lift your spirits with Amadeus in “Umagang Kay Ganda.” This burgeoning station promises programming that goes beyond being heard; it strives to evolve and reach out and listen to what their audience has to say.
Radyo Pinoy will have you singing along to music, pondering a topic and laughing out loud to the unique humour of their hosts.
