Pista sa Tundo 2004

TORONTO–The Torres High School Alumni Association (International) will hold its summer signature social event in July 31, 2004 at the Malvern Community Centre.

The “Pista sa Tundo” has been a part of the social activities of the international alumni association for a number of years and has been set at the vast and spacious Malvern Community Centre at Scarborough. As in the past, the affair is expected to be attended by Torres High alumni from mostly North America with a sprinkling of Torresians from the Philippines.

This time the event will also serve as a reunion of Class 1958 which has shown a resurgence in its participation in the many and varied activities of the THSAA. Chairmen Ernie Catapang and Pablo Villanueva are both stalwarts of Class 1958 in North America.

The special event has been promoted and publicized around the world through the ubiquitous email, letters, phone calls as well as the special plug at the association’s newsletter–“The Torch.”

The primary purpose is to entice and encourage the many alumni to attend or at least to stand and be counted to support and strengthen the role being played by the Class specially in the globalization efforts of the association particularly in the area of international fundraising as well as in the preparation of the forthcoming International Grand Reunion earmarked for August 2005.
