Cesar Montano accepts defeat
MANILA, Philippines (UPDATE 1)- Actor-director and Liberal Party gubernatorial candidate Cesar Montano accepted defeat in Bohol’s gubernatorial race.
In a phone interview, Montano explained that the total votes from the 3 remaining towns of Bohol would not be enough for him to beat the leading candidate, thus, “there’s no logic to continue” with the race.
Montano’s lawyer, Joel Ferrer, in a message sent to abs-cbnNEWS.com, said Commission on Elections (Comelec) partial and official results from 36 out of 48 municipalities in Bohol showed that outgoing 1st district congressman Edgar Chatto was leading by a wide margin over Montano.
