6th Annual Becel Heart & Stroke Ride for Heart
TORONTO–Ride to “Make Health Last.” On Sunday, June 2, you can join more than 13,000 cyclists in a tremendous experience that will help extend the lives of all Canadians – the Heart and Stroke Foundation’s 26th Annual Becel Heart&Stroke Ride for Heart.
Your fundraising and participation in the Becel Heart&Stroke Ride for Heart will support vital research and programs that will help eliminate heart disease and stroke. Ride for heart. Register now: call 416-486-RIDE (7433) or visit www.rideforheart.ca.
The Becel Heart&Stroke Ride for Heart is Canada’s largest charity cycling event. And every dollar you raise as you ride can make a difference. Here are some facts to consider: Every 7 minutes, a Canadian dies of heart disease or stroke. And 9 out of 10 Canadians have at least one risk factor for heart disease or stroke; one third report having three or more risk factors. Every 12 minutes, someone experiences a cardiac arrest; only five percent of those who experience one outside of a hospital survive. And childhood obesity has tripled in the past 30 years, affecting the future health of our children. But the good news is that up to 80 percent of premature heart disease and stroke is preventable with lifestyle changes.
Sunday, June 2, is your opportunity to cycle traffic-free along the Gardiner Expressway and Don Valley Parkway. Ride to help extend the lives of all Canadians. Ride to “Make Health Last.”
