Kalayaan Picnic 2014

The Kalayaan Picnic 2014 which was held on Saturday, June 7 at the Mississauga Valley Community Park, was a big success. Thanks to the Kalayaan Filipino Cultural Organization (KFCO) who organized the annual event and partnered with the Josie de Leon School of Performing Arts, it was well attended by the different Filipino Associations together with their families and friends.

The picnic started with a vibrant parade, followed by everyone singing the two national anthems and Bayan Ko. The young and the not-so young at heart who were present at the picnic, celebrated the 116th anniversary of Philippine Independence in a festive mood and shared lots of food, listened to music and watched a lively entertainment that included dances and games for the children. Everyone truly honoured and commemorated the true spirit of being a Filipino.
