Michael “Jai” signed to play for Lawrence Tech University
Michael “Jai” Avila, a student of St Michael Choir School, has just signed to play soccer at Lawrence Technological University. He will study Bio-Medical Engineering while playing for Coach Dyer in the fall. Currently, Michael plays for U21/League1 teams of Master’s Futbol Academy (MFA) under the tutelage Hubert “Junior” Groves, MFA’s Technical Director. Junior shares, “Michael is the real deal, he is one of the captains in our academy and he has grown into one of the most talented defenders in his age group in Canada”.
Michael is a 3rd generation Filipino-Canadian, the first grandchild of Binky & Arnulfo Lacuesta and the late Dimna Avila. He hopes that this signing event would encourage other young Filipino-Canadians to become student athletes.
