KAREN Pascual-Binaday, new PIDC President

TORONTO–On Dec. 10, 2017, the Philippine Independence Day Council, Toronto (PIDC) conducted its elections, in order to select its new Officers and Board of Directors, who will be serving with the organization for the next two years (2018/19). Those selected will be involved in organizing various community events such as: the annual Miss Philippines and Little Miss Philippines Pageant, Salu-Salo sa Earl Bales Community Picnic, the Mabuhay Cup and the Mabuhay Philippines Festival. The results are as follows:

• Executive Vice President: Ben Corpuz

• External Vice President: Tom Tan

• Internal Vice President: Gene Elamparo

• Special Project Vice President: Rory Elefano

• Executive Secretary: Randy Bucao

• Assistant Secretary: Aimee Maravilla

• Treasurer: Nene Ticzon

• Assistant Treasurer: Ted Dayno

• Auditor: Al Tupe

• Press Relations Officer: Mike Aprieto

• Press Relations Officer: Jeff Mesina

• Business Manager: Clyde Pacis

• Business Manager: Melinda Manlapaz

• Community Liason: Verth Bugtong

• Community Liason: Paulina Corpuz

• Director: Helen Lao

• Director: Nanding Ticzon

• Director: Vilma Tahsin

• Director: Suzy Llanera

• Director: Imie Belanger

In addition, PIDC is pleased to have the following in its Council of Leaders: Chyrell Samson, Roland Ibarra, Rose Cruz, Myrna Palmer, Marlene Lucas, Ralph Paguirigan, Anita Diaz, Agnes Miranda, Ofelia Santiago, Aris Elefano, Ric Norona and Roger Tarca.

PIDC were joined by MP Michael Levitt and MPP Han Dong during the election process and helped swear in the incoming Board and Officers for 2018.

Following the elections, all in attendance gathered to celebrate the festive season and the new bonds of camaraderie. Everyone partook in the deliciously delightful catering of Chef Mayette Morillo, of Mayettes Famous Restaurant and Catering Services.
