PIDC announces date of flag raising for Independence Day
The Philippine Independence Day Council (PIDC) has announced that the Flag Raising Ceremony, marking the historical independence of the Philippines, will take place on June 12, 2019, at Toronto City Hall, from 12 noon to 2 pm. All members and supporters of the Filipino-Canadian community are invited to attend.
In addition to the significance of the highlighted occasion, this year’s ceremony will coincide with the first ever national Filipino Heritage Month. Subsequently, dignitaries, representing several levels of government, will be invited to attend this rich tradition within the Filipino-Canadian community.
Following the ceremony, guests will be treated to entertainment, lunch, as well as brief speeches from government representatives.
