Culture Philippines’s concert to help Kalayaan, ANCOP

Culture Philippines’s concert to help Kalayaan, ANCOP

A BENEFIT concert at the prestigious Living Arts Centre in Mississauga is being offered by Culture Philippines of Ontario (CPO) to celebrate its 20th anniversary in 2005. The concert will be denominated by novel dances choreographed by CPO’s creative Dance and Artistic Director, Ms. Eleanor Mescallado-Kalash. Herself, an accomplished Bayanihan dancer and director, ENO as she is fondly called, has brought innovation, creativity, colours and excitement to the otherwise ordinary folkdance numbers that many Filipinos have seen for so many times. The coming benefit concert is something to be experienced not only by Filipinos but also by all our friends in the mainstream community. The theatre environment will bring a totally different impact to the audiences. The music and dances will be powerful and inspiring intended to arouse our bayanihan spirit of samahan or togetherness, collective effort, joyful sacrifice and offering.

The proceeds of this benefit concert will support the Kalayaan Cultural Community Centre (KCCC) building fund and the ANCOP project of building small communities for the poor in the many areas in Philippines and other countries.

Culture Philippines has arranged with Living Arts to allow a 20% discount to group purchase of 20 tickets or more. This provides a fundraising opportunity to all community organizations where they can either keep the 20% discount for their respective purposes, or donate the 20% savings directly to KCCC (please call KCCC president, Ms. Ching Quejas at 905- 629-0099) and obtain a charitable receipts directly from these beneficiaries. Tickets can be purchased directly from the Living Arts Box office at 4141 Living Arts Drive in Mississauga. Or order by phone at 905-306-6000 / 1-888-805-8888. Please visit Living Art’s website at http://livingartscentre.ca.

A Reception at 6:00 pm will precede the 7:30 pm show. Drinks and the well-liked Filipino kakanin and sweets will be available for sale to the concert patrons.
