PIDC calendars events for 2005

The Philippine Independence Day Council (PIDC), a member of Festivals and Events Ontario, is busy preparing a plethora of activities for 2005.

First, their search for Miss Philippines PIDC 2005 will be held on Sunday, May 15th at Rembrandt Hall. Additional categories have been added to the pageant including Miss Petite and Miss Teen. The winner will receive a cash prize, a complimentary trip to Las Vegas, one “Terno” from Ruzz Couture, a free one hour photo session, a crown, sash, trophy and the opportunity to be the Ambassadress of Goodwill in all PIDC events and invitations throughout Ontario. All the contestants will also be asked to participate in a number of upcoming PIDC activities.

Watch out for details about the 2005 Little Miss Philippines and Mabuhay Star Babies. Participants in all PIDC pageants will be asked to take part in a Santa Cruzan scheduled this summer. For additional information about the pageant, contact Albert Alonzo at (905) 294-4663 or Suzy Llanera at (416) 338-5395.

To celebrate 107 years of Philippine independence, PIDC has teamed up once again with the Kalayaan Community Centre to hold its annual gala. It is scheduled to take place on Saturday, June 11th at the International Plaza and Conference Centre at 655 Dixon Road. This year, the gala pays tribute to the sites, sounds and people of Mindanao. Tickets are only $55 each on or before May 31st and $65 after. For more information about this event, call Bernie Synchanco at (416) 857-7551.

Watch out for upcoming announcements regarding other exciting PIDC events such as “Salu-salo” sa Earl Bales and the much anticipated event of every summer, the Mabuhay Philippines! Toronto Summer Festival and Parade. For information on PIDC and all its events and affiliations, check out its website at www.pidctoronto.com.
