Theresians present two young talents
TORONTO–St. Theresa’s College Alumnae of Toronto is showcasing two young persons who overcame physical limitations to excel in the music. Mara Unson-Ladines lost her hearing when she contracted a viral infection at age three.
Today this Los Angeles-based artist has won numerous awards and scholarships. Alvin Alba is a baritone with the Himg Pilipino Choral Ensemble. He was diagnosed with end stage renal failure in 1999. His triumph over this adversary is evident every time he renders beautiful music for his audience.
The concert will be held at Eden United Church in Meadowvale, Mississauga on July 17 at 3:30 PM. As well as inspiring the audience to reach beyond their physical limitations, this concert will also benefit the Gawad Kalinga projects of Ancop International Canada. The project aims to build homes for the poor in the Philippines.
Organizers promise an afternoon that will surely touch their spirits as so many audiences of these two talents have attested to.
