Rizal ladies mark 1st anniversary

The Canadian Ladies Auxiliary for Rizal celebrated its First Anniversary at St. Aidan Catholic Church Hall in Scarborough on Saturday, July 23, 2005. Led by their President, Lady Baby Pulumbarit, the the members converted the church hall into a Hawaiian Luau, with over 120 guests in Hawaiian costumes.
CLARIZ is a civic organization, working closely with the Order of the Knights of Rizal, a patriotic and cultural organization that helps the community in Toronto and the Philippines.

Clariz Adviser Lady Ching Quejaz presented a Certificate of Appreciation to the founding members, who include Lady Dolly Poblete (vice president), Lady Odette Virey (vice president), Lady Precy Cerezo (secretary), Lady Jovy Alo (treasurer), Lady Mila Lupango (auditor), Lady Alma Torreno (PRO), Lady Ligaya Cana (Adviser), Lady Elvie Damasco and Lady Jojo Sebastian.

Sir Jun Zerrudo was the master of ceremonies. The Golden Dancers (Rizalistas) of Sir Ben Ferrer , KCR, presented several dance numbers. The highlight of the evening included the selection of the best costumed Lady and Gentlemen and the best costumed couple. Several door Prizes were much appreciated by the guests, especially the Luau prepared by Lady Mila Lupango.

The Clariz officers managed this celebration. They were assisted by Lady Malu Cahanding, Lady Trini Espiritu, Lady Noemi Nepomuceno, Lady Winnie Faundo, SK Alfred Coutts and SK Romy and Rose Ylagan.
