Asociacion Negrense joins CASJ

The Asociacion Negrense through a unanimous decision by the newly-elected officers and members of the Secretariat during its meeting on Oct. 1, 2005 has approved and endorsed a motion to join the Community Alliance for Social Justice (CASJ).

Edwin Mercurio was designated as the official representative of Asociacion Negrense to CASJ. Two other officers of Asociacion Negrense – Dick Flora and Daniel Cajurao, President and Vice President of the organization will serve as alternate representatives to CASJ.

The Asociacion Negrense officers stated that by joining CASJ they can serve the Negrenses of Ontario better and become active participants of the whole Filipino-Canadian community in the struggle for Social Justice and other important issues affecting the community such as the Access to Trades and Professions, the Live-in Caregiver Program, youth, seniors and policing and community safety.
