Silayan general membership meeting on Nov. 20

The officers and members of the board of directors of the Silayan Community Centre announced its annual general meeting on November 20 (Satuday) , 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at level 2 (Sub-Basement), 240 Wellesley East, St. Jamestown Complex, Toronto.

A special committee has been mandated by its constitution and by-laws in receiving candidates to fill-in the additional volunteer members of the board of directors.

At present, the following programs are on-going at the Silayan Community Centre which inlude peer nutrition classes, seniors affairs, free computer classes, referral services for immigrants, family issues, and human rights, labor, housing, and employment, support group of Lesbian, Gay; and Bisexual, and Transgender (LGBT), piano lessons and youth activites.

Silayan Community Centre will celebrate its 35th year of foundiong in March 2006. The SCC achievers will be given plaques and certificates of recognition for their contributions to the Filipino community.
