Mayor David Miller on Leyte disaster
Mayor David Miller on Leyte disaster
On behalf of all Torontonians, I want to extend condolences to the families affected by Friday’s mudslide in the Southern Philippines.
Toronto is home to more than 200,000 Canadians of Filipino descent and at this time we stand together with them in offering our support and sympathies.
Tragic events like this one affect more than just the impacted area. The devastation extends to family, friends and countrymen and women all over the world.
I join with them in prayer for the 1,800 men, women and children of the village of Guinsaugon lost in the event and for those working tirelessly on rescue efforts.
