Toronto Mayor urges everyone to support fundraising concert

Toronto Mayor urges everyone to support fundraising concert

TORONTO Mayor David Miller has come out in support of the fundraising concert “Rebuilding People’s Lives” on April 28 at Stephen Leacock Collegiate Auditorium in Scarborough.
He has also indicated the Office of the Mayor will support the livelihood project for the food security of the 470 most affected families in Guinsaugon and three other villages in St. Bernard, Southern Leyte.
Miller indicated the form of support his office will extend is in kind (i.e., farm implements) and human resources
“On behalf of all Torontonians, I want to thank the organizers of this concert for their efforts and urge everyone to support the event. The Leyte, Philippines mudslide disaster was a terrible tragedy and this concert will raise much needed funds for relief and rehabilitation for the victims,” Miller said in a statement.
The concert is organized by  Community Alliance for Social Justice (CASJ), Philippine Independence Day Council (PIDC) and Kababayan Community Centre. There are 16 participating organizations involved in the preparations and promotions of the event.
