APO Southern Ontario’s ‘Revel in April’

For the first time Alpha Phi Omega Southern Ontario Alumni Association (APO SON ALAS) held a Spring dinner-dance dubbed “Revel in April” last April 15, 2006 in Hamilton, Ontario. It was also the first time ever that APO held an event in Hamilton.

There was an ample attendance from the Golden Horseshoe Area residents who were treated to cultural presentations from the friends of APO, sumptuous dinner, desserts and drinks, Easter egg hunt, attractive door prizes and lively music and dancing. The affair which started at 6:00 pm lasted up to midnight.

Invitees from Hamilton, Burlington, Cambridge, Oakville, Mississauga, Toronto and Markham were introduced and got to know and easily warmed up to the members of APO SON ALAS. They will be the source of support and partners and beneficiary likewise in community projects and services of the APO association. Members of APO Mississauga and a member from APO Midwest-Chicago also graced the occasion and participated in the Spring merriment.

Proceeds of the dinner-dance were intended for the Guinsaugon, St. Bernard, So. Leyte relief efforts that were already advanced in part by APO SON ALAS president Amel Fortun. The attendees were also treated to a power-point / audio-visual presentation of the social and community and international humanitarian activities of APO SON ALAS and its partners in the Philippines.

The impressed attendees signified their interest in attending future APO SON ALAS social events and were already asking when would be the next affair.

APO SON ALAS would like to extend membership to alumni members of APO from the Philippines who are not yet in the loop with the fraternity and have been outside the brotherhood circle while in Canada.
