Geneva forum on RP killings held
A forum on Unmasking the Collusion between Repressive Governments and the WTO: The Philippine Experience and the launching of the book Stop the Political Killings were held simultaneously at the Maison des Associations in Geneva, Switzerland last July 30.
The events were attended by Verana Graf, secretary general of the International League for the Rights and Liberation of Peoples, Paul Germanotta from the International Organization of Labor (ILO) Geneva, Martin from 3D, Vicky Corpuz, among others, and members of MIGRANTE Switzerland.
During the forum/booklaunching, guests were invited to sign a petition asking the Philippine government to stop the political killings and calling on European governments to denounce these killings that included members of the progressive party list Bayan Muna, Bayan, peasants, workers, lawyers, students, church people and journalists.
The forum and booklaunching were held after the World Trade Organization general council meeting in Geneva, Switzerland last July 26-29. The twin events were organized by Resist Network (an anti-WTO formation) in cooperation with MIGRANTE Switzerland.
