Ang Negrosanon charters new directions for 2007

Ang Negrosanon of North America held its Induction Ball last November 18 at Sts. Peter & Paul Banquet Hall. In his inaugural address, the newly-elected President of the association Joel B. Marilla said that he recognizes the achievements of the founding members of the association and realizes its important role in the community.

Marilla, who hails from Bacolod City, speaks enthusiastically about his plans for the organization in board meetings and believes that the organization will succeed and prosper by “combining the collective efforts of the officers and members, putting forward individual skills and talents to maximize potential results.”

Marilla also said that as president he is keeping his eyes open and listens to suggestions on how to improve the association’s participation in various activities and programs that will benefit the Negrosanons and the Filipino-Canadian community.

Elected as Ang Negrosan’s 2006-2008 Executive Officers are:

President – Joel Marilla; Executive Vice President – Dolly Juanero;VP-Policy & Organization – German Solis; VP-Membership – Leda Richards; VP-Communications – Edwin Mercurio; Secretary – Nydia Nene; Treasurer – Remy Laxamana; Auditor – Evelyn Birondo; Adviser – Ed Birondo; Asst. Treasuer – Mely Solis; Adviser – Rufo Rivera.

Board of Directors: Rudy Butihin, Fannie Cajara, Douglas Diaz, Ramon Hojilla, Diana Jorgensen, Joyce Lo, Victor Manoso, Andy Mendez, Edith Monotilla, Jeselyn Moreno, Nonoy Ronquillo, Ofelia Severino, Tessie Tesoro, Lisa Valera, Lucy Villarosa.
