Tikyo’s Place to rise in San Jose, Nueva Ecija
Elnora Gomez Munsayac Fleming, a native of Barangay Sto. Nino First in San Jose City, Nueva Ecija and who migrated to Canada some 40 years ago, said that her family will put up a community center with complete facilities to serve the children, adults, and seniors in her place of birth, Barangay Sto. Nino in San Jose City, Nueva Ecija.
Ms. Fleming pointed out that her family decided on the project in memory of her brother, the late Apolinario Gomez Munsayac who passed away on March 14, 2006. She said her late brother had great enthusiasm in sharing and helping others who had less in life.
Ms. Fleming spoke with fondness of her late brother who was well known to be very supportive and helpful to friends. Apolinario was popularly known as “Tikyo” Karate” or “Pol Karate” in Barangay Sto. Nino First in San Jose City, Nueva Ecija, thus the community center will be known as “Tikyo’s Place”.
The plan is to develop a playground for children together with adults, and a leisure place for seniors. A library will be established with reading materials coming from different newspapers, magazines, and books from the Philippines and other parts of the world.
Mrs. Fleming said that his late brother was very athletic. In fact, before he died he kept on riding a bicycle and continued playing basketball. He was a karate expert, that’s why he was called “Pol Karate.”
She said that she will ask the City Mayor of San Jose City to find a bigger land area for that project like one hectare.
Her husband, David Fleming, is very much supportive of this project. Mr. Fleming is a Canadian.
