Camarines Norte prexy congratulates Bicol Canada

Camarines Norte prexy congratulates Bicol Canada

In a special message to Rafael Nebres, a prominent community & business leader and President of Bicol Canada Community Association in Ontario, Tony A. San Juan, President of Camarines Norte Association, has extended his warm congratulations to the Bicolano leader and his officers for the successful  sponsorship and conduct of  the celebration of the feast of  Bicolandia’s patroness—-The Our Lady of the Penafrancia, during the September month.

The quintessential organization, a 5- province entity composed of  resident – members coming from the provinces of Albay, Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, Catanduanes, Masbate, and Sorsogon in the Bicol region , simply gathered in fellowship and friendship  celebrating their respective family’s “ panata at panalangin.” Catholic devotees are afforded , usually each year, the ample opportunity to express their spiritual belief and faith of devotion to the blessed “Ina”, Bicolandia’s name for the Holy Virgin Mary . The celebration, which is preceded by a month- long  series of novenas hosted by volunteer families, is highlighted with the traditional fluvial procession , a mass at the park, and a pot-luck picnic . The Scarborough Bluffers’ Park was the venue of  the religious gathering held on September 20, 2008.

Organized and coordinated wonderfully well by the “oragons” of the decades old Bicol Canada Community Association, the annual rites was to many, especially the participants, supporters, and observers, was acclaimed a great success. Paeng Nebres, in response, credited his “members’ sheer dedication and cooperation” about the event.

On behalf of the many devotees and other participants , Tony A. San Juan together with Jojo Taduran, a prominent community journalist,  expressed their unequivocal admiration and profound thanks for the invitation to the religious rites and similarly, for accommodating them onto the Lake Ontario procession. It’s a “spiritual and exciting experience for some of us, especially to first timers who joined the 5- boat fluvial ride”, San Juan added.

“Your members and your leadership and magnanimous gestures”, continued the message, are “a great delight and a wonderful source of  pride. May your tribe increase and more power “. Viva La Virgen ! Viva Bicol  In Canada.
