CNAC-O elects new officers
TORONTO–The Camarines Norte Association Canada – Ontario ( CNAC – O), now on its third year of existence as a solid institutional participant and partner amid the ever growing Filipino Canadian community in the province, selected its new set of officers for the term 2009 – 2010. The event was held on August 16, 2009 at the East York Town Centre, Toronto.
The newly elected CNAC -O officers and directors will be formally inducted into office on October 3, 2009 at the Holy Rosary Church Social Hall, # 354 St. Clair Avenue West, Toronto. As expected, noted community leaders are invited to grace the occasion together with the Association’s members, friends, family, and supporters.
Led by Willie Nabus as incoming President, other elected executive officers include : Susan S. Llanera, 1st Vice President; Priscillano Ostonal, Jr., 2nd Vice President; Lydia Madrona – Yanto, Secretary; Nely Lopriego, Asst. Secretary; Lida Espanol- Muguerza, Treasurer; Merle Canlas, Asst. Treasurer; Rommel Yanto, Auditor; Eva S. San Andres, Business Manager; and Kambz Silvio, PRO. Rounding up the members of the Executive Board , as Directors, are : Larry Bercasio, Marie S. Agoston, Andrea A. San Juan and Shey Silvio.The 11 Town Representatives are : Randy Fermo ( Capalonga), Sonia S. De la Cruz( Basud), Minda Sayoc ( Daet), Milvin Servidad ( Labo), Liwanag Nabus ( Mercedes), Minda Alban (Paracale), Shirley S. Rosales ( San Lorenzo Ruiz), Virgie G. San Juan (Santa Elena ), Salve Aquino (San Vicente), Eman Gerio ( Talisay),and Nestor De Mesa (Vinzons).
CNAC-O is a province – based organization whose members are natives and former residents of the only Tagalog – Bikol speaking province in Region V. It was founded in April 2007 by Jojo Taduran, its current Adviser, and Larry Bercasio & Tony A. San Juan who both served as Founding Vice President and Founding President, respectively.
The 65 – member strong organization , collectively with its given resources and expectations, aims to provide worthwhile assistance and support to their “kabanowaans from their pinagmulan” .
Operationally, it has established purposeful programs and projects which include 1) Outreach Initiative, 2) Calamity Relief Fund Assistance Scheme, 3) Scholarship Grants, and 4) Inter – Organization Cooperation & Partnership. As Tony A. San Juan, the outgoing President, readily gave his succession advice :…… “with its communal promise definitely encouraging in the horizon, CNAC-O should realistically and distinctively endeavour to meet its continuing challenges and commitments to help out.”
