OBITUARY: Aperocho, Cornelio Azarcon
March 31, 1922 – August 3, 2009
On Monday, August 3rd, Cornelio A. Aperocho was called home by the Lord in his 87th year. He was the beloved husband of Clarita for 66 years and a loving father to 10 children: Julie (Arturo Viola); Peregrino (Elisha Alba); Matilde (Rudy Tendean); Jorge (Sally Amoroso); Samuel (Sonia Arca); Melita (Efren Alba); Camilo (Suzette Mendoza); Josita (Francis Ong); Ronaldo (Mila Galang); Herman (Isabel Menor). Also, the cherished LOLO to 26 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. He was a dear friend to many. Mr, Aperocho was a veteran of World War II with the U.S. Armed Forces against Japanese occupation in the Philippines. He was awarded two medals: the Bronze Star Medal and the Purple Heart. In recognition of extraordinary valour, his fellow veterans and the Philippine infantry paid tribute to his passing with the traditional 21 gun salute. His family received friends at the Divine Jesus Memorial Park Chapel on August 3rd, followed by a memorial service at Mt. Carmel Church on August 8th. He was eulogized by his grandchildren Kharee and Kristie, his son jorge and son-in-law Arturo.
Interment was held at Cagay Cemetery, Roxas City, Philippines. The family expresses sincere gratitude to the staff at Capiz Emmanuel Hospital for their kind and compassionate care. Also, his family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to all who expressed their great love, sympathy and support during this time of sorrow. Cornelio was a true gentleman, respected for his devotion to family, friends and neighbours. He was gentle, quiet, kind and generous. His legacy will never be forgotten.
