FCMA to hold Medical Fair
The Filipino Canadian Medical Association and the Filipino Centre Toronto with the different para-medical Filipino professional associations will hold a Medical Fair at the FCT, 597 Parliament St., Toronto on Sunday, June 6, 2010.
The members of the FCMA will conduct information sessions geared towards educating the general public. The formal lectures will include topics addressing common medical conditions: detection, prevention, treatment, and health promotion. Other para-medical associations such as the nurses, dentists, pharmacists, and physiotherapists will participate in these activities as well.
A ”brown bag” program will be going on throughout the day. Anybody can clear their medicine cabinets with the advice of qualified pharmacist.
They may ring their medicine from home to be sorted out.
The medical fair will be from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. It will include formal lectures divided into two sessions: 10-12 a.m., and 2-4 p.m. The rest of the time will be allow interaction between the public and the physicians and viewing exhibits by the various associations and companies. The exhibits/displays will be housed in a separate room (Ottawa Hall) and available for continuous viewing by the physicians and the public.
An admission fee of $10 will be charged at the door or ticket can be purchased in advance thru the FCT and FCMA. The fee includes light lunch and lecture kit.
