PH Day marked in Brampton
BRAMPTON, ON – The Federation of Filipino Canadians of Brampton is organizing and hosting the 2nd Filipino Fiesta in the Square to celebrate the 113th Anniversary of Philippine Independence. Last year’s Fiesta went beyond anyone’s expectations in terms of the entertainment calibre, guest attendance, food demands, even the weather. The Federation was expecting 1000 attendees and the food vendors prepared for 300 people, but close to 1800 people showed up, plus almost 200 performers performed. One lucky winner from North York won the major door prize of a Sony Electronic Book Reader and a Cruise in the Bahamas.
This year, the Federation promises to exceed last year’s success. Eight sponsors have signed up their support for this event. There will be 6 food vendors plus an ice cream truck on the plaza. There are 25 vendors and exhibitors confirmed, and another 4 vendors on the waiting list. The entertainers and parade participants are all geared up and ready to go.
The full-day of family fun will start with a ceremonial parade, followed by opening
ceremonies, and then seven hours of non-stop entertainment. There are udience games, silent auction, and a lucky winner will take home the major door prize which is an Apple iPad. Of course, there will be a kids_ zone where free face painting and balloons are happening.
Admission is absolutely free. So there is no excuse not to be part of this exciting day! Bring your family, bring all your friends and experience Filipino hospitality.
