IL Divo of Asia to sing at Pinoy Fiesta on June 9 at Metro Convention Center
TORONTO–The rising Filipino classical-pop tenor quartet, The Angelos, dubbed as Asia’s answer to world famous Il Divo, is composed of young, vibrant and good-looking artists: George Sison-Tagle, its founder, Rei Paolo Libiran and John Louie Abaigar. The Angelos won the Aliw Awards’ Best Group in Concert category in 2009.
“The Angelos possess a unique blend of musical artistry rarely seen in a musical group. The colourful and vibrant diversity of three individual voices combine to bring about the expressive import of music with poetic and yet highly artistic finesse”, as relayed by a Texas music professor.
The group had successful performances overseas in the past three years including the 80th birthday concert for former U.S. President Jimmy Carter in Atlanta, Georgia, concert with world-renowned pianist David Osborne. They continue their international musical and cultural missions by promoting Filipino talent and sharing the Filipino culture with various foreign communities in Asia and almost all the major cities in the United States.
The group will be a great addition to the programming in the Biggest Fiesta in Town, the Pinoy Fiesta and Trade Show organized by PCCF and PCCT. The Fiesta will feature Superstars from the number one network in the Philippines, GMA Pinoy TV.
