Philippines finishes Olympic run, still no medals

MANILA, Philippines – Team Philippines is officially out of the Olympics after its final bet, BMX cyclist Daniel Caluag failed to advance Thursday, August 9.
Caluag was eliminated from the quarterfinals of the BMX men’s event after he finished last in his heat with 29 points. Only the top four of each heat advance to the semifinals.
The Fil-Am biker was the last of the 11 athletes to compete for Team Philippines, the smallest delegation the country has sent since 1936. This is the 4th straight Olympics that the Philippines has failed to bring home a medal of any color.
